Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012)
While recent animated blockbusters have aimed to viewers of all ages, starting with fantastical concepts and breathtaking visuals, but tackling complex emotional issues along the way, Ice Age: Continental Drift is crafted especially for the wee ones — and it works. Venturing back to prehistoric times once again, the fourth Ice Age film paints broad strokes on the theme of familial relationships, throwing in plenty of physical comedy along the way. The movie isn't that far off from one of the many Land Before Time direct-to-video sequels: not particularly innovative or necessary, but harmless, thrilling fun for anyone with a sense of humor. Unless they have a particular distaste for wooly mammoths, the kids will love it.

is a 2012 Indian thriller film directed, co-written and co-produced by Sujoy Ghosh. The film features Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chatterjee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. Balan portrays the role of Vidya Bagchi, a pregnant woman in search of her missing husband in the city of Kolkata during the Durga Puja festivities, who is helped in her quest by Satyaki "Rana" Sinha (Chatterjee) and Khan (Siddiqui).
Made on a shoestring budget of INR8 crore (US$1.46 million), Kahaani was developed by writer Advaita Kala, based on the initial idea from Ghosh. The film explores themes of feminism and motherhood in a male-dominated Indian society. Filming took place on the streets of Kolkata with Ghosh employing the art of guerrilla filmmaking to avoid unwanted attention. Ghosh admitted to using several allusions to Satyajit Ray's films such as Charulata (1964) and Aranyer Dinratri (1970). Additionally, critics compared the twist ending of the plot to the Hollywood film Taking Lives (2004). The film was noted for a deft portrayal of Kolkata and use of a significant number of crew and cast members from the city.
Kahaani released worldwide on 9 March 2012 to major critical acclaim. Critics praised the screenplay, the cinematography and the performances of the lead actors. Word-of-mouth publicity and good critical response paved the way for Kahaani's commercial success at the box office, with a 50-day worldwide gross of INR104 18.93 million). The film resulted in renewed interest in Kolkata as a filming location, and the character of contract killer Bob Biswas became an internet phenomenon in India.

The film has been shot in as many as five countries across three continents. On the outset, the film is a story about two friends Adil Khan (Arjun Rampal) and Kabir (Abhay Deol). Their friendship receives a severe jolt when Kabir decides to leave the police academy after realising that he couldn’t cope up with the quintessential ‘police’ attitude. Later, Adil emerges as a respected police officer who takes up the job of police superintendent in Naxalism affected area Nandighat (Any resemblance!).
Adil’s reunion with Kabir, who is a failed businessman, prompts him to plant Kabir as a mole inside the enemy camp. The unexpected happens when Kabir starts struggling between two entirely different ideologies.
Be it ‘Daamul’ or be it ‘Aarakshan’, Jha has always come up with a film that is based on an ‘issue’ but is politically correct. This time again, he has tried his best to not hurt the popular sentiments. The police have been shown from all sides but the man who is at the helm of affairs is morally upright and knows his limitations. There is a deliberately put scene in the film where Adil refuses an offer from a business tycoon Mahanta (Kabir Bedi), while there are other policemen under Adil’s jurisdiction only who are protected and sympathised by him, so that confuses the audiences about his actual stand.

|Son Of Sardar|
Son Of Sardar:
Remember Ajay Devgan riding two mobikes in his debut Phool Aur Kaante? He comes riding on two horses here. He believes the world is useless without sardars and all hell breaks lose when his pagri is trampled on. Though clearly aimed at a Sikh audience, the film ends up upholding the familiar cliches about them, especially about being all brawn and little brain.
It’s that old tale of conflict between two families till love brings them together. Thrown in are stunts, chases, absurd humour, bizarre characters and silly lines like the one who leaves India is “Hindustan Lever”. A watch, if loud, mindless gags work for you.
