Do you know, Chacha Chaudhary's brain works faster than computer?
The man who created that blockbuster series is none other than PRAN, who is considered as the Father of Indian Comics, Because he was the one who in 1960, created first indigenous cartoons strips having Indian characters and based on local themes. Before that all comics were imported from foreign countries.

Maurice Horn, the editor of World Encyclopedia of Comics, has described him in his book as - Walt Disney of India (page 42, 1999 edition)

More than 2 millions readers all over the country regularly enjoy the exploits of his famous characters CHACHA CHAUDHARY, SABU, SHRIMATI JI, PINKI, BILLOO, RAMAN, and CHANNIE CHICHI etc. which are published in 10 different languages all over India. Entertaining generations after generation Pran's comics have been constant companion of every youngsters growing up. His all characters are drawn from middle class society. He has so far published more than 500 titles and a number of newspapers regularly carry his features.

His Comics Chacha Chaudhary has been adapted for a TV serial which was telecast up to 600 episodes on India's premiere channel SAHARA ONE. That is countries first serial based on Indian Comics. Travelled widely over the Globe including countries like America, England, France, Germany, Australia, Spain, China, South Korea etc. He delivered speeches to the gatherings of cartoonists on the subject wherever he went.

Humor is the base of all stories. "If I could put a smile on the face of poor, I would consider my Life successful" - he says. Apart from that his comics always has a social message to convey.

Chacha Chaudhary is a very popular Indian comic book character, created by cartoonist Pran. The comic comes in ten Indian languages including Hindi and English and has sold almost ten million copies. Once cartoonist Pran struck upon an idea of a wise oldman who solves problems with his sharp intellect. Thus CHACHA CHAUDHARY was born in 1971. Tall and robust SABU, who is an inhabitant of planet Jupiter, gave Chaudhary an ideal company. A combination of wisdom and strength was formed to tackle any difficult task. It is said that " Chacha Chaudhary's brain works faster than a computer". Though both fight the criminals and tricksters, each episode ends with a touch of humour. The duo perform in lighter vein.

The CHAUDHARY family consists of his wife Bini, a fat sharp tongue woman, Sabu, Rocket - the dog and Dag- Dag, an old truck who is half human- half machine.

Chacha Chaudhary is the most popular Indian comics. More than 10 million readers enjoy this series regularly in newspapers and comic books in ten languages. A T.V. serial based on the comics has crossed 500 episodes and still continue to be telecast on premier channel "Sahara ONE".

Bini Chachi:

Chacha Chaudhary's wife Bini is a fat, dominating lady who is the boss of the house and occasionally battles the thieves with her belan (rolling pin). She is usually dressed in polka dotted sari and has a hair style matching 1970s style of Indian actresses. Although very kind hearted with all the attributes of a strict but caring wife, she often complains Chacha of not buying her gold bangles and she has to cook for Sabu although she serves as a motherly figure for Sabu. In one comic she is shown with stirring a giant pot with a ladle for Sabu and serving him more affectionately than Chachaji.

Rocket (Raaket):

Rocket is his pet dog. He was found as a stray dog and was adopted by Chaha, much to the dismay of his wife, who said that raising Sabu itself was a handful for her. Though she later accepted the dog when it attacked the burglars in the house. He is rather well known as raaket. The only characteristic of this dog is defined in the line "Chacha Choudhary ka kutaa ssurrlup ssurrlup doodh peeta hai" ( Choudhary's dog drinks milk) & the fact that he is the only vegetarian dog in the whole world. The dog has proven himself at occasions, attacking his foes on command.

Sabu:

Sabu is an indian character created by cartoonist pran.sabu's first appearance was in "chacha choudhary and the pocket thief", which was released in the year 1971.he is an extra-terrestial about 15 inches tall from jupiter.he helps chacha im fighting against crime and provides chacha the physical strength in time of need,sabu is a giant and huge and tall.he has the ability to increase his size at will.sabu has a very off the track dressing style butthat is quite fasinating to some and awkward to others,it comprises of only a wrestler's kuccha(briefs),a pair of ear-rings and apair of gum-boots that defines him.

Sabu belongs to the planet "jupiter".he has came to earth because once he was travelling through solar system, he came to earth and immediately fall in love with it.things that enchanted him includes the beauty of nature on seeinglovely montains, peaks,rivers and dense forest.he decided to stay on earth after meeting chacha choudhary and his wife bini chachi,who treat him very well.it is also notabale that sabu love delicious food,cooked by chachi which mainly includes paratha and halwa. Sabu also has sibling,that is his twin brother called dabu,who is of the same built as of sabu.

The strength of sabu is easily reflected in his daily diet that comprises of 100 chappatis at one time, 12 kilos of halwa and about 20 kilos of lasasi in one meal.it is said that no one has the force to fight with sabu and take a bog with him but it is known that one enemy of sabu is gaka,who us of the same height and built as sabu.

Sabu has a very strong built and inside that tough body he has a very soft heart and this can be easily examined by the act that always he used to wear the giant ear ring that has been gifted to him by his mother,when he left jupiter. It is also a very known fact that when ever sabu gets angry "kahin jawalamukhi phatati hain" .sabu ofently speaks because he is shy in natureand he has no interstin girls and he hardly wants to talk on this topic,it is also seen that whenever sabu performs a great strength he utters the cry "huba-hu"!!

Enemies of Chacha are Raaka (once a dacoit, but an immortal giant after drinking a magic potion made by Chakram Acharya), Gobar Singh (a dacoit), Dhamaka Singh, and his accomplice Paleeta and Ruldu.

Many a times Chacha Chaudhary has beaten Raaka and forced him to shave off his moustache as a result of some competition which was won by Chacha. Chacha's comic with Raaka, Raaka ki waapsi (The Return of Raaka) is one of the best selling comics of Diamond Comics. Apparently Raaka was put to sleep by some potion given by a saint from the Himalayas and buried in the ocean the first time. On his return by another potion he was reduced to a small size,

closed in a bottle and buried in a grave. But this was not the end. He returned several times again to wreak havoc in the city. Finally Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu buried him in an endless hole somewhere near a rocket launch site.But for the last time he was sent to the planet of Zalubar by a rocket.
